Have Lipstick Will TravelPosted: January 29, 2012
The Moodie Report has reported the launch of Yves Saint Laurent’s new Rouge Pur Couture Vernis à Lèvres — a hybrid between a lipstick, lip gloss, and lip stain in one product. The line is said to deliver long-lasting, ultra-glossy, vibrant color.
The formula features a new system called “Lifeproof Color Emulsion”, which incorporates ethyl cellulose, a polymer used in the agri-food sector to coat food and give it shine. This has been blended with emollient and silicone oils, and then emulsified in an aqueous base, resulting in lip color that lasts.
There will be 20 shades, each in a bottle that looks like a nail polish bottle. The new lip collection is being previewed at London’s Heathrow Airport from January 12 to February 11, ahead of its February launch.
Here’s a look at the 20 shades:
Although the collection won’t debut until February, I discovered that the Rouge Pur Couture Vernis à Lèvres is already available for sale at certain online retailers, including YSL Beauty’s British website, (£22.50). It’s not yet available on the US YSL Beauty website, but it’s available exclusively in America at Sephora ($32).
